What is a private vaccination clinic?

A private vaccination clinic gives you direct access to vaccines without waiting for an NHS appointment or referral. At Belgrave PharmHealth in Highfield, you can book directly, have a short consultation to confirm the vaccine is suitable for you, and usually be vaccinated the same day. This is ideal for vaccines the NHS does not routinely provide for adults — such as HPV catch-up, meningitis B, chickenpox and shingles below the eligible age — and for people who need vaccination quickly for work, study or peace of mind. We keep a broad range of vaccines available, advise honestly on what you actually need, and provide the records and certificates that employers, universities and placements often require. Whether you are catching up on a missed childhood vaccine or protecting yourself for a new job, we make it straightforward.

Vaccines available at our Sheffield clinic

  • HPV (Gardasil 9) — protection against HPV-related cancers and genital warts, for adults who missed the school programme.
  • Meningitis B (MenB) — for students, infants and adults wanting protection against group B meningococcal disease.
  • Hepatitis B — for healthcare and food-handling workers, travellers and other at-risk groups, with antibody testing.
  • Chickenpox (varicella) — for adults and children who haven’t had chickenpox, and for those in contact with vulnerable people.
  • Shingles — for older adults wanting protection before they become eligible on the NHS.
  • MMR catch-up and MenACWY — also covered on our student vaccinations page.

Catch-up vaccinations for adults

It is never too late to catch up. Many adults missed vaccines as children or have lost their records, and some childhood vaccines (like HPV) are now recognised as valuable into adulthood. After a short consultation we can advise what you may have missed and arrange a suitable course. Where a vaccine needs more than one dose — as with HPV and hepatitis B — we will schedule your appointments so you complete the course correctly.

Occupational and workplace vaccinations

Starting a new role in healthcare, dentistry, the food industry or another regulated sector often means proving you are immunised. We provide hepatitis B vaccination with antibody (titre) testing, plus other occupational vaccines and the documentation your employer or placement requires. If you are a healthcare student, see our student vaccinations page too.

Shingles and chickenpox

Chickenpox vaccination is available privately for children and adults who have not had the illness, and for those who live or work with vulnerable people. Shingles vaccination protects older adults against a painful reactivation of the chickenpox virus; if you are not yet eligible on the NHS, you can have it privately with us.

What to expect at your appointment

  • A short consultation to confirm the vaccine is right for you
  • Same-day vaccination where suitable
  • Clear schedules for any multi-dose courses
  • Records and certificates for work, study or travel

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral for private vaccinations?
No. You can book directly with us — there is no need for a GP referral. After a short consultation to check suitability, most vaccines can be given the same day.
Which private vaccines do you offer?
We provide HPV (Gardasil 9), meningitis B, hepatitis A and B, chickenpox (varicella), shingles, MMR catch-up, MenACWY and travel vaccines. If you need a specific vaccine for work, study or travel, get in touch and we will confirm availability.
Can adults have the HPV vaccine privately?
Yes. While the NHS offers HPV vaccination through schools, adults who missed it can have it privately at any age. HPV vaccination helps protect against cervical and several other cancers as well as genital warts. See our HPV vaccine page for details.
I need vaccines for a new job — can you help?
Yes. We provide occupational vaccinations such as hepatitis B for healthcare and food-handling roles, with antibody testing and documentation where required. Many employers and placements ask for proof of immunity before you start.
Do you vaccinate children?
We offer a range of vaccines suitable for children, such as chickenpox and catch-up doses, following a consultation. Tell us your child’s age and needs when you book and we will advise on suitability.
How much do private vaccinations cost?
Prices vary by vaccine and the number of doses needed. We are transparent about costs before you commit — see our pricing page or ask when you book. Some vaccines, such as HPV and hepatitis B, require more than one dose for full protection.
