What is our weight management clinic?

Our Sheffield weight management clinic is a pharmacist-led service that helps adults lose weight safely under proper clinical supervision. Rather than handing out medication, we start with a thorough in-person assessment: we measure your height, weight and BMI, check your blood pressure, review your medical history and talk through your goals. From there we agree a plan that suits you — which may include a prescription weight management programme alongside changes to diet and activity, with regular monitoring. Treatment is only offered where it is clinically appropriate, and the focus is on results that last rather than a quick fix. Being seen face to face gives many people valuable accountability and reassurance, and means we can adjust your plan as you progress. Located on Asline Road in Highfield with free parking, the clinic is easy to reach from across Sheffield.

Am I eligible?

Weight management programmes are generally suitable for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above where there is a weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol or obstructive sleep apnoea. You can estimate your BMI now with our free eligibility checker, but the final decision is always made in person after a full assessment.

What happens at your appointment

  1. Assessment. We measure your BMI and blood pressure and review your health and medicines.
  2. Discussion. We talk through your goals and the realistic options, including their pros and cons.
  3. Your plan. If appropriate, we agree a programme — which may include prescription treatment, lifestyle support, or a referral.
  4. Check-ins. We schedule regular reviews to monitor progress, adjust your plan and keep you on track.

A monitored, supportive programme

The difference good support makes is significant. We don’t just start you on a programme and step back — we review your progress, manage any side effects, adjust your dose where needed and help you build the habits that make weight loss sustainable. Combining clinical treatment with realistic lifestyle change gives the best chance of lasting results.

In Sheffield or online — your choice

Some people value coming in for face-to-face check-ins; others prefer the convenience of managing things from home. If you live outside Sheffield or simply prefer remote care, our online weight management service offers the same clinical standards with discreet next-day delivery across England. Either way, you get a programme led by a GPhC-registered prescriber.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the weight management clinic for?
Our clinic is for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or raised cholesterol. We assess your BMI and overall health in person and recommend a plan only where it is clinically appropriate.
What happens at the first appointment?
Your first visit is a proper clinical assessment: we measure your height, weight and BMI, check your blood pressure, review your medical history and discuss your goals. From there our pharmacist explains your options, which may include a prescription programme, lifestyle support, or a referral if that’s more suitable.
Do you offer weight loss injections?
Where clinically appropriate, prescription weight management medication can form part of your programme, alongside diet and activity changes and ongoing monitoring. Treatment is only ever supplied after assessment and where a prescriber judges it suitable for you.
How is the in-person clinic different from the online service?
The clinic offers face-to-face assessment and check-ins, which some people prefer for accountability and reassurance. If you live outside Sheffield or would rather manage things from home, our online weight management service offers the same clinical standards with next-day delivery.
Will I get ongoing support?
Yes. Weight management works best with regular review, so we schedule check-ins to monitor your progress, adjust your dose if needed and keep you on track. You are not left to manage alone.
How much does it cost?
Programmes start from around the figure shown on this page, depending on your assessment and plan. We are transparent about costs at your consultation, with no hidden fees.
